T3 is liothyronine sodium, the active thyroid hormone, also sold as Cytomel. In cutting plans it is used in the last weeks of a diet to bring metabolic rate back up after a long deficit. It is not a fat burner on its own and it does nothing useful for weight loss in someone whose thyroid is already normal.

Half a tablet for the opening days, then 25 mcg, increasing in 12.5 to 25 mcg steps towards 50-75 mcg a day and split across two or three intakes. Four to six weeks is the usual block, and it ends with a taper over several days rather than a sudden stop, so the thyroid has time to pick the work back up.

A racing pulse, chest discomfort, shaky hands, nervousness, heavy sweating, intolerance of heat, temporary hair shedding, leg cramps and poor sleep, with weight coming off faster than the diet explains. Serious effects are cardiac. A heart condition, an irregular rhythm or high blood pressure means a low dose at most, and only with medical supervision.

Alcohol is not listed as a direct interaction, but it speeds the pulse and dehydrates, which adds to what the hormone is already doing. Thyroid replacement changes how other medicines behave, so blood pressure drugs, stimulants and any regular prescription should be reviewed with a pharmacist before a block starts.
