Tesamorelin is a stabilised GHRH analog that raises endogenous growth hormone and IGF-1. The label of the approved form reports an average half-life of about 8 minutes after a 1.4 mg subcutaneous dose of Egrifta SV and about 11 minutes for the WR version, while general data give 26 to 38 minutes. The short window is why the clinical schedule is one injection every day rather than a weekly one, and why a single daily dose does not keep growth hormone elevated around the clock.

In the approved population it was studied for that endpoint with long daily treatment, and visceral fat reduction was recorded in clinical data. That evidence belongs to the prescription product used in patients with lipodystrophy; it does not transfer to healthy users and it says nothing about a research vial. The 5 mg vial also falls short of a week at the approved dose, which is arithmetic rather than a comment on effect.

Add bacteriostatic water down the side of the vial and swirl it gently instead of shaking; never add water to a stream of powder. A 5 mg vial with 2 mL gives 2.5 mg/mL, so the millilitres you add set the concentration you read on a syringe. Keep the sealed powder cold, dry and out of light, hold the dissolved solution at 2-8 C, and do not freeze it.

Injection site reactions are the most frequent effect of the injected class, followed by edema and fluid retention, joint and muscle aches, and headache. Growth hormone stimulation also means glucose handling and IGF-1 are worth watching, and the clinical product is monitored for those.
