How Clomixyl Works

Clomiphene occupies estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary, so those centres read the estrogen signal as low and increase the release of luteinising hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. In women the burst matures and releases an egg; in men it drives the testes to produce testosterone and sperm. Because the mechanism is a receptor block and not an enzyme block, it is used after a cycle with a base such as Testoxyl and works alongside Nolvaxyl rather than replacing it, while an aromatase inhibitor such as Arimixyl acts on a different step.
