How Methenolone Works

Methenolone binds the androgen receptor and raises protein synthesis and nitrogen retention, the mechanism behind its slow gains in lean tissue, and it has a low androgenic rating, so it is among the least likely orals to cause oily skin, hair loss or prostate irritation. Its medical history is as an ester: methenolone enanthate has been studied in acquired aplastic anemia and in advanced breast cancer. Like every anabolic steroid it suppresses luteinising hormone, so the body's own testosterone production falls during use.

Dosage & Administration

Methenolone acetate is swallowed, and reported training protocols run 50-100 mg a day in divided doses for six to eight weeks; a clinician sets the actual dose. Because the oral is not 17-alpha-alkylated, it is easier on the liver than the alkylated tablets, but alcohol is still avoided and liver values checked. It is normally run with a testosterone base such as Testoxyl, since it suppresses natural production on its own, and a drier injectable such as Masteroxyl or the long-ester Primoxyl 100 is the usual partner. An aromatase inhibitor such as Arimixyl is used only if estrogen side effects appear from the base.
