Product overview

Generic Peptides Sermorelin - 2 to 10 mg Research Vials

Generic Peptides Sermorelin is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone, supplied as a lyophilized research powder in 2, 5 and 10 mg vials. It is the 1-29 fragment of human GHRH, the shortest piece of the hormone that still carries full function, and it acts on the GHRH receptor rather than on the ghrelin receptor used by the secretagogues in this cluster. Its direct relatives here are CJC-1295 no DAC and CJC-1295 DAC.

Variant Comparison

One peptide, three strengths.

Variant Dosage Form and quantity Best use
Sermorelin 2 mg 2 mg Vial Short
Sermorelin 5 mg 5 mg Vial Standard
Sermorelin 10 mg 10 mg Vial Extended

The 10 mg vial carries five times the material of the 2 mg vial, and the 5 mg size is the one that also has a U.S. domestic option. A longer acting GHRH analogue such as Tesamorelin, the ghrelin-side secretagogue Ipamorelin or the direct hormone Somatropin is the usual comparison when the GHRH arm of a pulse study has to be set up.

How Sermorelin Works

Sermorelin binds the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor and mimics the full length GHRH, so the pituitary releases its own growth hormone rather than receiving it from outside. Because the response is held in check by the inhibitory hormone somatostatin, the release comes in bursts that follow the natural rhythm instead of a flat level. Sermorelin was introduced as a diagnostic tool for assessing growth hormone secretion, was approved in the United States in 1997 for children with growth hormone deficiency or growth failure, and was withdrawn from commercial production in 2008 for business rather than safety reasons.

Reconstitution & Storage

The vial is dissolved with sterile or bacteriostatic water, which is not in the pack, added down the vial wall and swirled rather than shaken. Divide the milligrams on the vial by the millilitres added to read mg per mL. Keep the powder at 2-8 C or -20 C and the mixed solution at 2-8 C for four weeks.

Dosage & Administration

No human dose is stated here and the vial is not a medicine. The product sold under this name in the past was a prescription diagnostic and is no longer manufactured, so nothing on this page is a treatment protocol or a dosing guide. Sermorelin is named in WADA class S2.2.4 and is banned in sport at all times.

Supplied for laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use. Information provided is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before use. Sermorelin is supplied as a lyophilised powder and stays stable when the vial is kept cold and dry.

Stacks

Two Receptor Pulse Model

Sermorelin with the ghrelin-side secretagogue Ipamorelin, one input from the GHRH receptor and one from the ghrelin receptor.

Expected outcome: a pulse model that exercises both arms of the growth axis in one protocol.

Short versus Long GHRH

Sermorelin as the short 1-29 fragment against CJC-1295 DAC as the long acting analogue with the drug affinity complex.

Expected outcome: a side by side of how far each analogue carries the release signal in time.

Release versus Replacement

Sermorelin as the release arm and Somatropin as the replacement arm, kept in separate groups so the endogenous pulse is not read as an injected level.

Expected outcome: a clear split between stimulated release and an externally supplied hormone curve.

FAQ

Before you ask

Questions, answered

Sermorelin, also written as GHRH (1-29), is a synthetic peptide analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone. It is a 29 amino acid polypeptide that reproduces the 1-29 fragment of the natural human hormone, the shortest part that keeps full activity. Its formula is C149H246N44O42S and its mass is about 3358 g/mol. It was developed as a diagnostic agent for growth hormone secretion and is no longer manufactured as a prescription drug.

It binds the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor and mimics full length GHRH, so the pituitary releases its own growth hormone in a burst. The response is limited by the inhibitory hormone somatostatin, which is why the release follows a natural rhythm rather than a flat level. That is a different route from the ghrelin receptor secretagogues, and the two classes can be combined in the same protocol.

Sermorelin is no longer an approved product, so the current material is research grade and has no label-based safety profile. As a peptide injected under the skin it carries the usual route risks, including injection-site reactions, and any compound that raises growth hormone can affect fluid balance and blood sugar. Effects of this class are documented in the clinical literature for the old prescription product; the vial sold here is not that product.

Add sterile or bacteriostatic water down the side of the vial and swirl, do not shake, then divide the milligrams on the vial by the millilitres added to read mg per mL. Keep the sealed powder at 2-8 C or -20 C and let it reach room temperature before opening. The mixed solution stays at 2-8 C and is used within about four weeks.

Yes. The WADA Prohibited List 2026 names sermorelin in class S2.2.4, growth hormone releasing factors, in the GHRH and analogues group. Substances in category S2 are prohibited at all times, in and out of competition, and the section works on a catch-all basis, so an unnamed GHRH analogue falls under it as well. Tesamorelin and CJC-1295 are named in the same line.

Both are GHRH analogues, but sermorelin is the plain 1-29 fragment, while CJC-1295 carries extra substitutions and, in the DAC version, a drug affinity complex that extends its presence in the body. In practice the short fragment gives a brief pulse and the modified analogue gives a longer one, which is why they are used against each other as the short and long arms of a kinetics study rather than as interchangeable products.

All three vial sizes are listed on this page as research material with international and U.S. domestic checkout. International shipping runs about 35 dollars with a transit window of four to ten days, the domestic option is available on the 5 mg vial, and orders are handled within one to two business days. Stock and prices are shown live on the page.
