Anadroxyl 50 mg is oxymetholone in 50 mg tablets, 50 tablets per pack, an oral anabolic-androgenic steroid used for strength and size in a mass phase. Oxymetholone is a 17-alpha-alkylated derivative of testosterone, the subgroup that survives first-pass liver metabolism and is therefore active by mouth, and it is also the subgroup where steroid-related liver injury is reported most often.

How Oxymetholone Works

Oxymetholone binds the androgen receptor in muscle and drives protein synthesis and nitrogen retention, the mechanism behind gains in lean mass and strength. It also stimulates red blood cell production, which is the basis of its medical use: it is approved for anemias caused by deficient red cell production, such as acquired aplastic anemia, myelofibrosis and hypoplastic anemia after myelotoxic drugs. Like every anabolic steroid it suppresses luteinising hormone and follicle stimulating hormone, so the body's own testosterone production falls and recovery has to be planned.

Dosage & Administration

Oxymetholone is taken by mouth, most often at 50-100 mg a day for four to six weeks in training use, and a clinician sets the actual dose. Because the 17-alpha-alkylated group is hard on the liver, blocks are kept short, alcohol is avoided and liver values are checked while it is used. It is normally combined with a testosterone base such as Testoxyl, since it suppresses natural production on its own, and with a drier oral such as Haloxyl or another tablet such as Dianoxyl it is not stacked, but run in separate blocks. An aromatase inhibitor such as Arimixyl is used only if estrogen side effects appear from the base. Recovery starts after the last tablet with Nolvadex 20 mg daily for four weeks, or Clomid as the alternative. Follow your prescribing physician's instructions.
